Chic Minimalism in YSL

Untitled-1

http-__cdn3.yooxUntitled-2 Untitled-3 THE term minimalism is used to describe a trend in design and architecture where in the subject is reduced to its necessary elements. Minimalist design has been highly influenced by Japanese traditional design and architecture.

Minimalism is defined as the concept of minimizing distractions from what’s truly valuable or essential.

As far as YSL’s store concepts go, they are stripped down to the exorbitant basics, very suitable for what Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent has always stood for. Where a lot of people (wrongly) refer to minimalism as non-materialistic, this is not the case – materialism is an unhealthy priority on “things”. Minimalism can be expensive. Yves portrays this perfectly through the real gold accents and blinding marble and mirrors EVERYWHERE.
